I would just like to say that all of your arrangements were great. The hotel refund was a pleasant surprise and I appreciate you doing that. The birding/naturalist/local history expertise of Ellen's went far and beyond what I ever expected.

We are back to a wet and cold England after a superb and sunny trip.

It is difficult to find sufficient superlatives to describe the trip! - it was brilliant in all respects and a huge thank you is owed to all of you who helped to make it so special.

Many thanks MaryAnne and Graeme for the vast amount of work that went into crafting this trip and putting together such an excellent itinerary.

Huge thanks are also due to our guides:- Roger and Janine in Croajingolong; Barry along the Great Ocean Road, through the Grampians and into the Little Desert National Park and its surrounds; Peter W in the Little Desert National Park, areas around Waikerie, Gluepot Reserve and across to Adelaide. Also to Hal Epstein and his guides (especially 'Steve') during our Pelagic trip and the excellent Ranger on Philip Island who accompanied and informed our time watching the Little Penguins come ashore (and short tailed shearwaters return to their burrows). We very much appreciate the expertise of our guides and the huge amount of preparation done in advance of our trip plus their warmth, friendliness and enthusiasm.

Each of the areas we visited was special and we were only too aware of the short time we had in each spot (we could gladly have spent weeks in each location if work and funds had permitted!).

Just wanted to send a note to thank you for helping to make our trip incredibly memorable. Everyone had such a wonderful time and absolutely loved Sydney. All the tours we took were exciting and the sights were beautiful. The only thing I would suggest as I mentioned over the phone is to extend lunch at the Carrington Hotel from one hour to two hours longer... the little town of Katoomba was so charming that our members had wished they had another hour there, as they really loved it! One of them spent $500 on a leather hat there! Mahalo nui and hope to come back again with another group.

We all enjoyed our holiday in Australia very much. Everything went according to the plans and schedule. Of course, we missed several interesting species (e.g. the cassowary) but saw many others which we did not expect to see (e.g. the noisy pitta). In total I saw 270 bird species (I heard several others but I did not count them). Our guides Carol and Ellen were wonderful persons and worked hard to show us wildlife. The ladies bought cloths, bags, etc. as souvenir (I bought some Australian wildlife field guides). We all send you our warmest regards and thank you very much for arranging us a memorable holiday!

Thanks for your email. I just wanted to emphasise what a wonderful experience I had in Australia. I was quite taken aback by the friendliness and helpfulness of so many of the people I met. The ranger at Mareeba Wetlands who went well out of his way to find Apostlebird for me , the boatman/ guide Glen on the Daintree who searched long for Great-billed Heron and would accept no payment, and more......

So many thanks for arranging such a good itinerary !
